Monroe County Conservation has an opening for a Seasonal Conservation Technician Employee.

Position will include but is not limited to custodial & caretaking responsibilities for park facilities, operation of equipment & vehicles, operation of power tools, public/community interaction, ex: cleaning park buildings & facilities, mowing, painting, brush cutting, invasive species removal, etc. Position with be approximately 29 hours per week April/May to approximately September/October. Employees must have effective communication skills. Previous conservation experience is a plus. Must be 18 years or older. Valid Iowa driver’s license. Complete tasks with limited to no supervision. Goal oriented. Positive attitude. Works effectively with others. Potential for rehire for future seasons. Part-time Recycling Coordinator
Brief Description:
The Coordinator(s) will be responsible for the Monroe County Recycling program. Applicants must be able to work efficiently and independently, have working knowledge
of machinery and equipment, and must have good communication skills. This is a part-time position averaging 22 hours per week with a wage of approximately $20,000 annually or approximately $17.50 per hour based on qualifications. The County will consider filling this role with one or more candidates.
Fulltime dispatch / Jailer position
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is now hiring for a fulltime dispatch/ jailer position. Qualified applicants should be able to type a minimum of 65 words per minute, be proficient on computers, have data entry skills, can multi-task, have good communication skills and lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Monroe County Secondary Road Department
Monroe County Secondary Road Department has an immediate opening for an OPERATOR II. With a minimum of supervision, safely and efficiently perform skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor, and operate a variety of light to heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, etc.); maintenance equipment, tandem and semi-trucks to construct, maintain, and repair county roads including repairing and replacing culverts and other structures. Minimum Qualifications - Graduation from high school or GED, plus at least one (1) year of experience involving the operation of light and heavy equipment, the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time under adverse weather conditions, working knowledge of mechanical principles, the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees and the public.
The operator shall possess a valid Class B commercial driver’s license and is subject to random testing as required by Monroe County. The position will be classified as Operator II.
