Full time dispatch/jailer position
The Monroe County Sheriffs Office is now hiring for a full time dispatch/jailer position.
Qualified applicants should be able to type a minimum of 65 words per minute, be computer proficient, have data entry skills, can multi-task, have good communication skills, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Applicants must also be flexible and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays and be able to handle high stress situations. Must pass both physical and psychological testing.
Full-time starting wages are approximately $22.90 per hr. with full benefits and will raise to approximately $23.68 after completed training as a jailer/dispatcher.

Oper II Openings
Monroe County Secondary Road Department has immediate opening(s) for an OPERATOR II. With a minimum of supervision, safely and efficiently perform skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor, and operate a variety of light to heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, etc.); maintenance equipment, tandem and semi-trucks to construct, maintain, and repair county roads including repairing and replacing culverts and other structures.
Part-time Recycling Coordinator
Brief Description:
The Coordinator(s) will be responsible for the Monroe County Recycling program. Applicants must be able to work efficiently and independently, have working knowledge
of machinery and equipment, and must have good communication skills. This is a part-time position averaging 22 hours per week with a wage of approximately $20,000 annually or approximately $17.50 per hour based on qualifications. The County will consider filling this role with one or more candidates.
Field Appraiser
Brief Description:
The Monroe County Assessor’s Office has a full-time position available for a Field Appraiser. This position requires physical inspections and data collection of real property with the ability to input collected data into a CAMA system to determine valuations for property assessments and perform other general office and clerical duties as assigned. The ability to read and identify legal descriptions on maps is preferred. Excellent communication skills, computer skills and the ability to be concise and make sound judgments are essential. Must possess a valid Iowa driver’s license, maintain auto insurance and have reliable transportation.
