Monroe County Secondary Road Department
Monroe County Secondary Road Department has an immediate opening for an OPERATOR II. With a minimum of supervision, safely and efficiently perform skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor, and operate a variety of light to heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, etc.); maintenance equipment, tandem and semi-trucks to construct, maintain, and repair county roads including repairing and replacing culverts and other structures. Minimum Qualifications - Graduation from high school or GED, plus at least one (1) year of experience involving the operation of light and heavy equipment, the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time under adverse weather conditions, working knowledge of mechanical principles, the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees and the public.
The operator shall possess a valid Class B commercial driver’s license and is subject to random testing as required by Monroe County. The position will be classified as Operator II. Position is subject to passing a pre-employment physical, criminal background check, and drug/alcohol testing.
